30 Day Digital Detox

Last weekend, while visiting Franklin, TN, we wandered into a church called “Church of the City” and unbeknownst to us — they had just started a new series called “DIGITAL DETOX” and were a week away from beginning a church wide DIGITAL FAST for the month of May.

When I first saw the message title, I felt un-easy and a bit nervous. A lot of my life and livelihood comes through the digital world… would it make sense for our family to completely DISCONNECT?!

As I listened to their pastor share his message, I KNEW…

Logically, it doesn’t make sense. It will make life very challenging, throw off all of our rhythms and conveniences… we will miss out on income opportunities, the algorithm will hate us… haha.

SPIRITUALLY though, it made ALL the sense in the world.

Without thinking it through much at all… I knew I was IN.

THEN, I went home and listened to the message from the week prior (when their series had first begun) and BOOM, further confirmation and clarity around why this was a must.

I’ve had requests to share these message links more times than I could keep up with, so I decided to give them a home!

Not everyone’s DETOX will look the same, but we are going to be stripping our phones down to be the equivalent of our daughter’s GABB phone (no internet, no social, no games — just call, text, Bible app, navigation, weather, and clean music 😉
